Technology Temple Maze

Overview

Technology Temple Maze uses a combination of applied machine learning techniques, including GPT-3, ml5.js, and VQGAN+CLIP, to speculate on a futuristic worldview in which artificial intelligence has achieved omniscience. In this world, humans rely on technology to make major decisions and view artificial superintelligence as a new god.

This extreme worship of technology leads to a future where human culture and legacy are willingly rewritten by artificial intelligence. Instead of human paintings, algorithm-generated paintings are hung on the walls. Predictive words from AI are treated as the new Bible of humanity. The new Golden Record, which is supposed to communicate the story of the human world to extraterrestrials, now only carries generated music.

The project is divided into three parts: Technology Worship, Technology Temple Maze, and AI Golden Record.

Experience

The player acts as a worshiper of the technology temple. The great technology guides the player through the temple, and the player needs to finish a series of tasks to complete the worship ritual. After playing through Technology Temple Maze, the player can visit the other two parts of the project: Technology Worship and AI Golden Record.

The visitor first sees a video introduction, with all contents generated by AI. The visitor then enters the temple maze and is asked to perform tasks. After passing the maze, the visitor can click into the other sub-projects below, such as AI Golden Record.

Contribution

For Technology Temple Maze, I trained and incorporated the PoseNet model and programmed the game in p5.js.

For Technology Worship, I trained VQGAN+CLIP to generate images and designed and built the intro website.

For AI Golden Record, I designed and built the music player website.
